Apple has qued everyone in on the price of its upcoming MagSafe Duo charger. The device will work with compatible Apple devices and in an unusual move by Apple, will also work with other Qi-certified devices.
The Magsafe Duo is Very Expensive
The Magsafe Duo, however, costs $129 and doesn’t even include a power cord. Come on, Apple. To be able to plug this thing into the wall you will have to spend another $19 for a 20W USB-C adaptor.
The MagSafe Duo can charge an iPhone and an Apple Watch at the same time. Also, it’s foldable, so it can easily be packed away. It’s really surprising to see Apple mac a device that works with, well, anything else. So, the fact that this charger can work with any Qi-compatible device is like, shocking.
So, is Wireless Charging Any Good?
Wireless charging a pair of inductive coils to transmit power between two devices. These coils are designed specifically to transmit electricity without needing them to come into direct contact with each other. Apple’s Magsafe Duo uses inductive charging technology.
Yeah, but is Wireless Charging Any Good?
Sure. It works well enough. Wireless charging is less efficient, so it provides a slower charge. It is really nice, however, to just be able to place your device on a surface to charge it.
