Apparently, the Korean smartphone giant, Samsung, may be refreshing the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 soon. Some leaked press renders and prices have started to surface in the past few weeks. One of the most interesting reports we have been hearing lately is one coming from SamMobile. High refresh-rate displays seem to be in the works.
This is something that a lot of nicer phones have had for a while, but like other flagship technologies, we are starting to higher refresh-rate displays trickle down to mid range devices. A higher refresh rate screen makes for a much better user interface experience. It enables much smoother animations and web page or image scrolling than a normal 60Hz panel.
Both the Galaxy A52 and A72 are going to ship in LTE and 5G variants. The LTE versions are going to use 90Hz displays and the 5G versions are going to get even faster, 120Hz panels. A 90Hz panel seems about right for the A52’s price level.
Also, the Galaxy A52 5G will be powered by a Snapdragon 750G SoC (System on Chip).
Display and Power
It’s going to have a 6.5-inch AMOLED panel and a 4.5Ah battery that will support 25W fast charging. We are thinking that the device is going to ship with Android 11 installed. And like other Samsung devices, expect to see 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage as one variant and 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage as the other option.
Camera
The A52 is going to include a 64-megapixel main camera that will be accompanied by a trio of cameras that are 12-megapixel ultrawide, 5-megapixel macro, and a 5-megapixel depth-sensing, respectively.
Around the front you will find a 32-megapixel selfie camera. We are thinking the device will be priced somewhere between $400 and $500, with the non-5G variant costing about $100 less.
