The ASUS ROG Phone 5 lineup is going to start shipping this month worldwide. It’s going to cost $949 for the base model which has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 high-speed storage.
Every version of the phone has a 6.78-inch FHD+ OLED display that has a 144Hz refresh rate. Also, the touchscreen in these phones will have a 300Hz touch sampling rate. These phones are going to feature a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack which was absent from the ROG Phone 3. This time the headphone jack is attached to a quad DAC hi-res audio chip.
The biggest changes since the last generation are usually reserved for much more expensive devices. Both the ROG Phone 5 Pro and Ultimate have double the storage and more RAM. RAM options start at 16GB in the Pro and can be configured all the way up to 18GB in the ROG Phone 5 Ultimate.
They both also come in limited edition colors and each have two additional ultrasonic touch sensors than the standard models. Also, they come with a clip-on AeroActive Cooler 5 fan attachment if you purchase either the Pro or Ultimate.
