Twitter announced a little while ago that it is testing ‘Spaces.’ Spaces are audio-enabled chat-rooms hosted on Twitter. Now, the social media giant is buying the development team responsible for Breaker, which is a community-focused podcast app.
Improving The Health of Public Conversation
Michael Montano, Twitter’s lead engineer, the company will improve the ‘health of public conversation on our service.’ Leah Culver, a co-founder of Breaker tweeted that she’s is ‘excited to help create the future of audio conversations.’

Breaker announced the deal in a blog post that also explained that Breaker’s podcast app will shut down as of January 15th. The company explained to its users how to export their OPML subscriptions list so they can use it in other podcast apps.
