Nintendo is most well known for not only their consoles, but their original first-party games such as Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, Super Metroid, and the most well-known, Super Mario, are only available for consoles.
Has Nintendo addressed porting their games on PC?
Nintendo said that they have “no interest” in their games on PC. “We are aware that many consumers play PC games. However, we believe that the integrated hardware-software business is the best way for us to provide the surprises and new gameplay experiences that we want to achieve,” the president of Nintendo, Tatsumi Kimishima said.
Though this may seem like a marketing fail, Nintendo (Unlike others) receive the most video game console sales. The Nintendo Switch sold more than 70 million copies. Nintendo could of sold less copies if they made games like Zelda Breath of the wild available elsewhere. Such as the Epic Games Launcher, Steam, and other various game launchers.
At the moment Nintendo Still has no plan on releasing any of their first-party games on PC. It would be cool to see Super Mario or The legend of Zelda on the Steam Store. At the moment though Nintendo has no plan for making this happen.
