Cyberpunk 2077 is a first-person shooter. Players see the game through the eyes of the character they are controlling. There is, however, a way to switch the popular game into third-person mode. In this guide, we will show you how to do it and the caveats involved,

Does Cyberpunk 2077 Have Third-Person Mode?

Cyberpunk 2077 is a first-person game. A third-person mode isn’t available when you are on-foot. It’s only something that you can normally experience while you are driving a vehicle. So, if you are wanting to be able to play through the story with the camera behind you, I’m sorry to say that you are unfortunately out of luck. That will have to wait until modders take a deep, deep dive into the game and make some sort of patch to be able to do that.

But You Can Watch Some of it in Third Person Mode

There are a handful of cutscenes in Cyberpunk 2077 that let you see V without using a mirror. CD Projekt is intentionally trying to keep Cyberpunk 2077 a first-person game in order to increase the game’s level of immersion. So, most of the animations throughout the game are designed with a first-person view in mind.

There are a handful of options for going third-person mode in Cyberpunk 2077. The first way is by toggling third-person on and off while driving any vehicle. All you have to do is hit the Cycle Camera key/button to switch between third-person and first-person views.

Keep in mind, there is a bug that may sometimes, prevent you from being able to switch away from first-person view in a vehicle. This is a known issue and the game’s developers are working on it.

The only other way to view your custom-made V from the back is to enter Photo Mode. Unfortunately, you can’t play the game this way, but you can take nice pictures.
