Apple’s newest location Singapore is a first-ever of its kind. The new location is a ‘floating’ store and the Cupertino-based tech giant say’s that it’s open for business.
Apple’s latest retail location sort-of looks like a floating lantern. It’s got a unique design that incorporates a glass dome sitting directly on the water in Singapore’s Marina Bay. This is Apple’s 512th store worldwide.
The store is called ‘Apple Marina Bay Sands,’ and is located in a luxury district of Singapore full of shops, restaurants, and the Marina Bay Sands hotel and casino. The
The floating store is made up of 114 glass pieces that are connected by 10 vertical supports. The store has a 360-degree view of downtown Singapore, and during the day, the interior is lit with natural lighting. At night, the panels of glass provide a lighting effect. Not only is this Apple’s first ‘floating’ store, but it’s also the first one to have an underwater boardroom that developers and businesses can use for things like meetings and presentations.
The store opened to the public yesterday, September 10th. It’s important to note that Apple is taking precautions regarding the COVID-19 pandemic by limiting the amount of visitors that can enter at any given time.
