Ford has announced the F-150 Lightning Pro. This truck is a more utilitarian leaning version of the ‘standard’ F-150 Lightning electric pickup. You can get the truck in regular and extended-range versions. The Pro models come with vinyl seats and without some of the bells and whistles of the other options. Useful features, however, are still offered. Things like high-end chargers and tow packages.

Where it counts, the Pro version is basically the same as the consumer model. But pricing and option selection is curated to appeal to fleet operators. There is a $39,974 base model that is available to both retail and fleet operators and offers a 426 horsepower, 755 pound-foot electric motor that has 230 miles of estimated EPA range. It includes a 32-amp charger and can tow up to 5,000 pounds.

The extended-range model costs only $49,974. That is impressive. It has the same 300-mile range as the $90,474 Platinum consumer model, but costs a lot, lot less. It delivers up to 563-horsepower (because for some reason we are still using that old, ridiculous measurement) with 775 pound feet of torque and includes a standard 80-amp Ford Charge Station. With the optional trailer package, this truck can pull 5 tons.

Other features are closer to what you would find on the regular F-150 Lightning. Those are the ‘Mega Power Frunk’ (Thanks, Elon) for charging and storage.

Also, it comes in a four-door SuperCrew cab version that has a 5.5-foot bed, always on 4×4 (AWD*) dual motor system and Ford’s Sync4 infotainment system that finally, yes, finally has a color LCD.

The extended-range version will more than likely be a huge seller as it will resonate with Ford’s large base of fleet customers. Ford says that F-150 Lightning Pro buyers are going to have access to Ford’s digital fleet planning tool.

Also, the truck comes with 4G LTE modem that provides a whole host of possibilities such as kilowatt-hour consumption monitoring, charging speeds, distance to empty, etc. You can now register for the F-150 Lightning Pro on Ford’s fleet website.
