The next console generation is right around the corner, and every gamer knows that there are added costs when adopting a new platform. Popular gaming peripheral manufacturer, Astro Gaming, says that its current family of headsets support both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 right out of the box.
Astro Gaming’s wired headsets like the A40 and A10 will continue to use the 3.5mm jack that is present on both the PlayStation and Xbox’s controllers. Wireless headsets like Astro Gaming’s A20, A50, and MixAmp Pro TR will need a USB adapter to work with Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. In the case of the Xbox Series X, you’ll also need to download a firmware update. On the PS5, if you want a full mix you will have to get an HDMI adapter from the Astro Gaming’s website that will run you $40. Astro does, however, offer a $15 off the adapter if you currently own one of the company’s wireless headset owners.
